Awesome call! San Francisco isn't the place where they're spreading like weeds. I think that's a term that'll be in use a lot in Sydney soon!

True players figure out how to get rich off of the posers. Pro skaters make a lot more money than most Web 2.0 droids.

Poser2.0

The funny thing is that this time (versus their onslaught on the community in late 90s) is that we can blog, video, tag, comment and taunt the heck out of them.

We should come up with a tag for just this type of person/behavior. Poser20, allpantnotrouser, shapeshifter?

Any time you get a "paradigm-shifting...shazbot" you get people preaching at the streetcorners. But the world has an irritating habit of remaining in existence, and "Web 2.0" and all the rest of it is no more the sole future than Imagism was destined to take over poetry. Engage your critical faculties, peoples.

Posers definitely ruled Web 1.0. Any fool with a computer course under their belt was earning a ridiculous salary while playing foosball and waiting for the bubble to burst. At least there are less of them this time around.

On the real flex, these haters need to recognize.

When I see a web2.0 poser I just straight punch them in the fucking face.

Well, talking about Web 2.0 instead of talking about defined technology standards and usability issues can be seen as a pose, too. I like it when things are called their name.

And that's what you do in this post. Thank you!

1. posers emulate players
2. players resent posers
3. players innovate, distancing from posers

therefore, posers drive innovation
